Football Season is Here
July 27, 2010
Football season is officially kicking off this Saturday with the first day of registration. Registrations will
be held from 9am-3pm at the Community Center on July 31, Aug 7, and Aug 14. The registration fee will be $80.
Players that have not participated in the CYFA during either of the last two seasons will need to provide a birth certificate.
Our uniform vendor will be on site to size for uniforms. Players do not have to be present to be registered,
but if they are not sized at a registration event they will need to come back during another registration or make
arrangements to be sized at another time prior to the first practice.
Registration forms will be available, but if you want to save a little time on Saturday you can print one from the
website and fill it out before you come by.
If you have an interest in coaching, please drop us an email or find one of the Executive Committee members at
registration. Registration numbers grow every year and there is always the strong possibility of adding teams. If no
slots come available this fall, we can fill you in on how to get your name submitted in the spring.

encouraged to attend and participate. The meeting will be held at the old Parks and Rec office on Richie Rd,
directly across the street from the old city gym.

Mark Your Calendars

We are halfway through June, quickly approaching halfway through the summer break, and if this heats keeps up the end will
not get here soon enough.
Mark your calendars for the first registration on July 31 at the Community Center. The dates for all the registrations
are listed on the homepage of the website and on our Facebook page.
Put a note on your calendars for the 6th Annual CYFA Skills and Drills camp as well. The camp will be held on Friday evening,
August 20th from 6:00-9:00pm. Look for more details coming soon.

Down, Set...

The blistering heat of summer has not even set in yet and school is still in session, but football season is quickly
approaching. The first registration is only 75 days out and practices will start in only 3 months.
We had an unprecedented spring for coaching applications as 31 applications were submitted for head coaching positions
for the upcoming season. While that is impressive to say the least, 16 of those applications were for the Rookie
league alone. We still need coaches in the Mini Camper league and the Semi-Pro league and while the depth chart is deep
for Rookie coaches, we could use more applications in the Pro league as well. We have added teams in at least one league
every year for the past several years and we hope this year is no exception.
Our association is only as good as our coaches and without them we do not exist. If you are interested in coaching or know
someone that is, please contact the Executive Committee as soon as possible about getting involved.

Coaching Applications due March 17, 2010

Coaching applications must be received by March 17, 2010 to be considered for a volunteer coaching position
for the fall 2010 season. ANYONE interested in coaching must complete and mail the application, including
potential returning coaches. Applications may be brought to the March 17 meeting or delivered to an Executive
Committee member. Applications sent via email will not be accepted. Coaching applications can be found in the
documents library or by clicking here.
The CYFA will be conducting background checks on all volunteer coaches. You must complete and sign the entire
application, which includes an authorization for us to perform a background check. The Arkansas Child Maltreatment
section must be notarized by a Notary Public. Applications without complete information, including signatures
and notarization will not be accepted.
The CYFA will not be responsible for applications that are not received. We encourage you to check with us on or prior to
March 17 to verify we have your application.
Coaches for the fall 2010 season will be announced at the April 21, 2010 general meeting.

winter weather.

Vendors!

Football season is only a short seven months away. The CYFA is beginning its annual process of selecting vendors for uniforms,
referees, scorekeepers, etc, and we would like to hear from you. If you would like to submit a bid or you would like to recommend a
business or organization to the CYFA, please contact the Executive Committee
and let us know.
Vendors will be invited to the March meeting to submit their proposals. If you are unable to attend the meeting, we
will make arrangements to meet with you at another scheduled time.

Just a reminder that a rules committee will not be formed this year. The CYFA membership voted in favor of an update
to our constituion to prevent any changes to the constitution or by-laws for a three year period.
